Orientation

So, I've been holed up in an intense orientation for the last few days while Jack has been exploring Bangkok. My training consists mainly of Thai language, teaching ESL, and the Thai school system. The upside to the long, exhausting days is the food...every few hours. We get a buffet breakfast, coffee/snack breaks twice a day, and a buffet lunch. Yeah, we're pretty spoiled. Here are some samplings:

We are on our own for dinner so here is some of the food available around our soi (side street):

Now that you’re sufficiently hungry, here’s one last thing we spotted in our neighborhood:

  1. You are sure that you didn't lift those pictures of food from a gourmet food photo archive, right? Wow, if they tasted half as good as they look that must have been amazing. (and I just noticed the heart-shaped jelly containers. That's a great touch :-)

And are those carrots and honey that come with the coffee?

  2. The food has been really amazing. I should have put a caption on that pic--they're actually papaya slices and corn (yes corn) jello! I'm a little surprised we don't have this in America.

Also featured above are rambutan (the spiky fruit), dragonfruit (white with black seeds), and guava (look like apple slices). Most of the food I eat I don't really know what it is--quite an adventure!
